Always ask your parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents what they know. This is a good start because families always have stories that are handed down through generations.
Start drawing the family tree on paper. Always start with you. This will help you start the journey and make sure that the information is accurate.
Choose a reputable tree building site. I personally chose myheritage.com because it had a lot of information which has helped with the growth of my tree.
Family photo albums help. Visualisation of ancestors can help figure out your family. Sometimes photos can understand where you get your looks for example.
Talk to relatives friends. Sometimes they know information that you don’t. You sometimes have to dig deep. Sometimes they are secretive to they’re family.
I hope this helps. I always enjoy doing my family tree. Don’t be afraid to dig deep
