Schools

Recently there have been more and more news reports of students packed lunches being sent home because teachers have deemed they’re packed lunch’s not healthy enough. This is appalling. Teachers have no right to dictate what a student can and can not eat. That should be up for the discretion of the parents. I feel that it steps over the line when a teacher starts interfering with what goes into the children. After showing my husband a news article on offending topic we have a debate. Pregnant with our first child we have found that we have some strong views on parenting which some may controversial. Back to the topic at hand. Whilst debating we both came to the conclusion that a small cookie and the odd packet of crisps does not make the lunch unhealthy. What is unhealthy is trying to force a child under the age of 11 to think about nutrition. Excuse me we all know about how the food situation is going. If schools are that concerned they should talk to the parents and NOT THE STUDENTS. An 11 year old doesn’t want to listen what’s good for there health. As long as it’s tasty and fills them up that’s all most people below aged 11 care about. I can tell you that under the age of 11 I didn’t care what was nutritional good for me. All I wanted was for it to taste good and be done with it. Schools are meant to teach. They need to stick to the texts books and not nosy through the children’s lunchboxes. When our unborn child reaches schooling age I’ll home school then if they’re perfectly healthy lunch gets sent home because it’s apparently not healthy enough. Absolutely disgusting
